THE SURF

The coastline between Salina Cruz and Huatulco offers over a dozen world class

sand bottom points, jetties and beach break setups.

The beauty of the surf in this region is the diversity of shape, length, hollowness, and speed

from wave to wave depending on the shifting sandbars.

Some of the waves are soft and user friendly making them perfect for intermediate - beginner surfers, longboarders and people who are looking to cruise down the line.

Other waves offer steeper more powerful sections with machine-like barrels

stretching the entire length of a point.

Peak surf season is from March - October.

WHAT TO BRING

HOW TO GET HERE

The first step to getting here is making sure you have a valid passport for traveling in to Mexico.  The next step is booking a flight to Huatulco, Oaxaca (HUX).  Most flights connect through Mexico City International Airport and have a layover there before continuing on to Huatulco.

We recommend that you choose the flight itinerary with the least amount of layover time, your flight from Mexico City to Huatulco will be approximately 1 hour and 15minutes.

When you land in Huatulco airport, you will be greeted by one of our airport transfer drivers holding a card with your name on it.  They will have your itinerary and contact info so that your arrival can be as seamless as possible.

The airport transfer drive to Surf Expeditions Lodge in Salina Cruz is approximately 1.5 - 2 hours away.

You will either be brought straight to the lodge of meet us at the beach for a surf straight off the plane.
